Daniella Boyd, math teacher at Royal Palm Beach High School, was named School District of Palm Beach County Teacher of the Year on March 11, 2019 for her outstanding achievements as an educator.
To be chosen she had to submit an application, attach her resume, write six essays in response to specific questions that were asked, record herself teaching, and include three letters of recommendations.
“What made my application unique is I had one of my students write one of the letters of recommendation that I submitted because I believe in student voice and encourage my students to find their voice,” Mrs. Boyd said.
With her outstanding application, Mrs. Boyd was selected for this honor. School District of Palm Beach County Superintendent, Dr. Donald Fennoy, came to Royal Palm Beach High to present Mrs. Boyd with her award.
“I was excited to win and overwhelmed with emotion, in a good way, because my family got to be there as did my amazing students, I am still pinching myself over it because I can’t believe that it happened to me !” Mrs. Boyd stated.
This award was a great accomplishment for Mrs. Boyd and Royal Palm Beach High School as a whole.
